期間限定の喜多方ラーメンが出している『Wanton Ramen」を、さっそく食べに行ってきました。
どうせ食べるなら一番いいヤツを！ということで、今回は最上位の「Deluxe」を注文。
まずスープを一口。
おっ、これは美味しい！
正直、スープはかなり好みでした。しっかり旨みもあって、最後まで美味しくいただけます。
問題は麺。
喜多方ラーメンらしい独特の麺なのですが、これは完全に好みが分かれそう。私は正直、このタイプの麺がちょっと苦手です。
ところが隣で食べている嫁は「この麺、好き！」とのこと。
……ということで、麺が悪いわけではありません。
単純に私の好みの問題ですね（笑）。
そして、もう一つ気になったのがお値段。
今回はDeluxeなので、ついにラーメン一杯が$20オーバー！
さらにアメリカでは、ここからTAX、そしてTIP。
結局、お会計は約$25。
ラーメン一杯、約$25です（笑）。
日本円に換算するのはやめておきましょう。
精神衛生上、あまりよろしくありません（笑）。
とはいえ、ここはアメリカ。
最近の物価を考えれば、これも仕方がないのかもしれません。
それにしても、ついにアメリカでは「ラーメン一杯$20超え」の時代が来たんだなぁ……と、ラーメンの味以上に時代の変化を感じてしまいました。
スープは美味しい！
麺は好みが分かれる！
そして値段はアメリカ価格！
そんな今回の期間限定・喜多方ラーメンでした。
Wanton Ramen is offering a limited-time Kitakata Ramen, so of course I had to go check it out!
And since I was already there, I figured, why not go all the way? So I ordered the top-of-the-line “Deluxe.”
First, the soup.
Wow, this is good!
I really liked the broth. It had plenty of flavor and was enjoyable all the way to the last sip.
Now, the noodles…
Kitakata ramen has its own distinctive style of noodles, and I think this is where personal preference really comes into play. To be honest, this particular type of noodle isn’t really my favorite.
My wife, sitting next to me, had a completely different opinion.
“I like these noodles!”
So there you go. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the noodles—they’re just not my personal preference.（笑）
Then there’s the other thing that caught my attention: the price.
Since I ordered the Deluxe, the price of one bowl was officially over $20!
And, of course, this is America, so then you add TAX and TIP.
By the time everything was included, the total came to around $25.
Yep… about $25 for a bowl of ramen.（笑）
Let’s not convert that into Japanese yen.
It’s probably better for my mental health.（笑）
But then again, this is America. With prices being what they are these days, I guess it’s something we just have to accept.
Still, it really made me realize that we’ve officially entered the era of the $20+ bowl of ramen in America.
The broth was delicious!
The noodles will depend on your personal taste!
And the price? Definitely American!
That was my experience trying Wanton Ramen’s limited-time Kitakata Ramen.
