以前投稿したアーティスト展について、その後、主催者側からさまざまな問い合わせが来るようになった。
予定通り、アーティスト展は渋谷のヒルトンで開催される。それに伴い、「名刺は作りますか？」「ポストカードは作りますか？」「写真集を制作しますが、何部購入しますか？」「作品は販売しますか？」など、多くの確認事項が送られてきた。
さらに、「作品に写っている人物の肖像権は大丈夫ですか？」といった質問もあり、初めて聞くことばかりで少し戸惑っている。（私は風景写真がメインなので肖像権に関しては問題はないはずだ。）特に悩んだのが、作品の販売価格だ。「写真を販売する場合、いくらで販売しますか？」と聞かれても、まったくの素人なので、適正な価格がどのくらいなのか見当もつかなかった。
そこで、いろいろと調べてみた結果、自分なりに納得できる価格の目安が見えてきたので、その金額で販売をリクエストしてみることにした。
ただ、今回の目的は作品を売ることではない。自分の写真を多くの人に見てもらい、展示会という貴重な経験を楽しむことが一番の目的だ。
そのため、もし売れなくても特に気にしていないというのが正直な気持ちである。
Following up on my previous post about the artist exhibition, I have recently started receiving various inquiries from the organizers.
As scheduled, the exhibition will be held at the Hilton in Shibuya. Along with that, I was asked a number of questions such as, “Would you like to make business cards?”, “Would you like to create postcards?”, “We are producing a photo book—how many copies would you like to purchase?”, and “Would you like to sell your work?”
There were also questions about portrait rights, such as whether there could be any issues with people appearing in my photographs. Since I mainly shoot landscape photography, I don’t expect this to be a problem.
The biggest challenge for me, however, was deciding on a selling price for my work. When I was asked, “How much would you like to sell your photographs for?”, I honestly had no idea. As a complete beginner, I had no sense of what would be considered a fair price.
After doing some research, I was able to come up with a price range that I felt comfortable with, so I decided to submit a request to sell my work at that price.
That said, my main goal is not to sell my photographs. My biggest objective is simply to have as many people as possible see my work and to enjoy the valuable experience of participating in an exhibition.
So, to be honest, I won’t be disappointed if none of my photographs sell.
