成田空港で朝食を食べようと店を探していたところ、プライオリティ・パスが利用できる**「道頓堀 くり田」**を見つけ、さっそく入店しました。
「道頓堀 くり田」は、第2ターミナル国際線出国後エリアにあるJAPAN FOOD HALL内の鉄板焼店です。大阪名物のたこ焼きやお好み焼き、焼きそばなど、本場・大阪の粉もの料理を気軽に楽しめる人気店で、搭乗前にしっかり食事をしたい方にもおすすめです。大きな窓から飛行機を眺めながら食事ができるのも魅力のひとつです。(成田空港)
このお店は先払い制のため、注文前にプライオリティ・パスが利用できるか確認したところ、アメリカン・エキスプレスやVISAなどが発行しているプライオリティ・パスは利用できないとのことでした。
私も、AAアドバンテージ経由とアメリカン・エキスプレス経由のプライオリティ・パスを提示しましたが、どちらも利用できませんでした。
最後に**Luxury Card Gold Mastercard（ラグジュアリーカード ゴールド）**を提示したところ、こちらは問題なく利用できました。このカードはプライオリティ・パスがカード本体に統合されているタイプなので、そのままクレジットカードを提示するだけで利用できます。年会費は約1,000ドルと高額ですが、このような場面でしっかり利用できると、持っていて良かったと感じます。
プライオリティ・パス利用者には専用の対象メニューが用意されており、私が利用した際は**「オムそば・たこ焼き・ドリンク」のセット**を選びました。ボリュームも十分で、朝食としては申し分ない内容。しっかりお腹を満たしてから搭乗することができました。
なお、プライオリティ・パスの対象メニューは時期によって変更されることがありますので、利用の際は店頭で最新の内容を確認することをおすすめします。
また、今回一番驚いたのは、同じプライオリティ・パスでも発行元によって利用できる・できないがあるということです。私のように複数のプライオリティ・パスを持っている方は、利用前にどのカードが対象なのか確認しておくと安心です。
While looking for a place to have breakfast at Narita Airport, I found Dotonbori Kurita, a restaurant that accepts Priority Pass, so I decided to give it a try.
Dotonbori Kurita is a teppanyaki restaurant located inside the JAPAN FOOD HALL in the international departures area of Terminal 2. The restaurant specializes in Osaka’s famous comfort foods, including takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and yakisoba. It’s a great place to enjoy authentic Japanese flavors before your flight, and the large windows overlooking the aircraft make the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Since the restaurant requires payment before ordering, I first asked whether my Priority Pass could be used. To my surprise, I was told that Priority Pass memberships issued through American Express and Visa were not accepted.
I presented both my AAdvantage Priority Pass and my American Express Priority Pass, but neither one worked.
As a last attempt, I showed my Luxury Card Gold Mastercard, and it was accepted without any problem. This card has Priority Pass integrated directly into the credit card itself, so you simply present the card at the register. Considering the card carries an annual fee of about $1,000, it was nice to see one of its premium benefits actually come in handy.
Priority Pass guests can choose from a special set menu. During my visit, I selected the omelet yakisoba, takoyaki, and a drink. The portion was generous and made for a very satisfying breakfast before boarding my flight.
Keep in mind that the Priority Pass menu may change over time, so it’s a good idea to check the current selection when you visit.
The biggest surprise for me was discovering that not all Priority Pass memberships offer the same restaurant benefits. Eligibility can vary depending on which bank or credit card company issued your membership. If you carry more than one Priority Pass card, it’s worth checking in advance which one is accepted to avoid disappointment.
This experience was a good reminder that the card issuer matters just as much as having a Priority Pass membership. If you’re traveling through Narita Airport, Dotonbori Kurita is definitely worth considering—but be sure to bring the right Priority Pass card!
